Thought Bricks 16 – Follow Up

f we compare ourselves with some kind of perfect ideal, then we will always “fail” because our perfect ideal will always be ahead of us. If our standard for comparison is too high then we will always feel like a failure.  It is too easy for some of us to become self-critical and assume that we are not making much progress in Thought Bricks when in reality we are doing very well indeed.

It is wonderful to have high ideals, but it is not a good to only compare ourselves to an ideal. We need ideals to know where we are ultimately heading. Yet, we need to balance this with a fair assessment of where we have actually come from. It is where we have come from which shows us our progress, not the ideal of where we want to be. Our ideal cannot show us our progress because it always moves ahead of us. It would be like trying to catch up with the headlights of a car we were traveling in. We can never do it, so it only ends in frustration and disappointment if we try. As we move forward, our ideal moves forward too. We can never catch up with it.

Our ideal shows us our ultimate destination, but not our progress. Where we come from shows us our progress, but not our ultimate destination.

If you are not making as much progress as you would like then try this checklist.
1.  Are you doing the exercises regularly – at least the ones which appeal to you?
2. Are you spending some time each day on building thought “moulds” (thinking in a clear way about specific things that you want)?
3. Are you putting good feelings into your thought moulds, thinking about how wonderful it will be when you have them, and feeling the feelings you will have when they happen?

If you are doing all the things in the checklist then success is on its way to you.

If you feel like you are struggling, try this: think about why, you want the things you want. How will you feel when you get them? Why will that be good? List all the good feelings you will have when you get that new car, the new job, that loving relationships, or whatever it is you are after. Make the feelings so strong and clear that you can almost taste them, like a feast spread out before you that you are just about to start on… Bring those feelings into it every time you are doing Thought Bricks for the things you want.

If you the thing you want feels “far away” or “not here” then it will probably stay “far away” or “not here” till you change how you feel about it. Cultivate the feelings of “having”, “holding”, “belonging”, “It’s here”, “I have it”, and “It is mine”  around the things you want. Do this as described above, by learning to cultivate the feelings of how it will feel to have it and it will all unfold from there.

The law we are using here is: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Do you realise how powerful this is? Do you know that, “the evidence of things not seen” is about how you feel. This is an act of faith. Do your realise that “the substance of things hoped for” are your feelings! When you have those feelings, feeling like you already have what you want, you are showing faith. You are then engaged in a powerful creative act, based on faith. You are then using your spiritual power and receiving your rightful inheritance as was intended for you by The Creator.

Your feelings are creative substance, so do not allow any feelings of “not good enough” or “failure” to take root in your life. Look to your progress from where you started not to an “ideal” which is too far ahead. Congratulate yourself for your efforts and celebrate your successes – no matter how small – and bigger successes will be yours in good time.

Blessings,

William M.
